tuning my car with cams

Default tuning my car with cams

i looking foward to ordering stage 2 hitech cams and was wondering if i can tune the car with my sniper software special forces or do i need the delta force?

Everyone says you can only get away with stage 1 cams with just special forces but beyond that you need delta force. That is what I hear I do not have personal experience with this.

i have the delta force but havent dug into it yet, was looking for help with it.
would you suggest adjustable cam gears?

I definitely recommend having your cams degreed, but that doesn't require adjustable gears. A lot of Performance shops will grind out the keyways on the stock gears so they can properly degree the new cams.

As for tuning, there are parameters that should be adjusted using Delta Force to get your car running properly after the cam install. How much adjustment depends on how aggressive the cam grind is. For my blower cams, I had to crack the TB to allow a little more air in at idle then adjust the idle air values in the software to keep it from stalling when coming to a stop and smooth out the idle as well.

+1 to tbird. your biggest enemy with the stage 2 cams will be getting the idle right. I suggest you head over to deltaforcetuning.com and join the forum.
