That's like sitting on a baby duck and telling him to quack.

F body's are modern day land yachts in stock form and in no way should you judge a car by it's stock performance. (who really gives a **** about stock anyway.)

Simply, almost any car can be built to do what you want it to do.

If ur not gonna mod it its either a cobra or go with an ls1. Lt1s are outdated and they can have problems I'm saying this from experience. 03 cobra is what I'm looking for lol

I was hoping that maybe when I got to the end of this thread I would find an update from the OP. NOPE just someone who somehow revived this old thread for no good reason at all

Old thread but I will give my 2 where some n00b reopened it

Being a owner of a 93 Corvette with a LT1 .
The thing that really sucks about the LT1 is that damn Optispark(not a fun job).
If it gets wet by a leaking WP( very common) kiss it good bye and if very pricey.

As for the LT1 itself its a decent motor and can make some good power.

The optispark issue was kinda fixed in the later years where it came with a vent system on the optispark to help suck condensation of of cap.

If I had my choice..Stick with the Mustang and the 2V it can make good power with some FI

Just my 2

Also will give my 2 cents since it's been reopened. I have had an NPI, a PI swap bolt on, and a 4V swap gt and now my 93 Formula.

The LT1 IMO is a better motor. It has more power out of the box, it responds better to mods and it's cheaper. As far as ease to work on, the 4.6L is hands down easier, but that is mostly because of it's location in the engine bay. The optispark is a pain, but it can be fixed/converted.

I agree with JC.

I have my mustang, I used to have a turbo'd 383 stroked LT1, and I currently have a built/juiced LS1. the LT motor responds great to mods but is a pain to work on. Honestly, mod motors are very expensive and mod/power arent all that great, but like mentioned if you have the time/money you can make anything fast. LS1's are just a whole other animal

I will throw in some change here. 4 years ago when shopping for a good used hot rod, my budget was 12k. Could of gotten a lot of different makes and models for that amount. Had to go for looks... HANDS DOWN...

4th gen Camaro and Firebird are the ugliest ones ever produced (imo). Especially the Firebird. I'm 38. I grew up as my favorite cars being the Fox Body and the 3rd gens. I owned an 89 IROC (305 tbi) and a 88 GTA (5.7 TPI L98), both with 700R4 autos. Both somewhat peppy from a dig, but by third gear, they wouldn't get out of their own way. And there was never room for true duel exhaust. Had to run the sh!tty Y pipe (fake duels). Sounded like crap.

Now the owner of a 03GT, I must say its been my favorite car. Looks wise. I still have a soft spot of the older 5.0 Fox body's, and 3rd gens, but the New Edge is the best looking Mustang ever produced. Fact!!!

There is more to life than going fast. You got to look good while traveling from point A to point B.
