Default 4.6l vs 5.7l lt1

2 cars line up at the strip. lets say a 99-04 GT and a 95 Trans am lt1 6spd. Both have minor bolt ons. Light turns green, who's winning? 1/4 mile

I have a choice, 99 mustang GT 5 spd Cobra R hood, saleen knock off rims, cobra bumper, fully loaded, 110k miles with CAI and flowmaster mufflers for 5grand

Or 95 Trans am lt1 6spd hurst sts, slp exahust, 73k on motor with slp twin air intake bbk headers. all black leather interior, lowered on eibach springs, ws6 rims for 4.5grand

Out of all honesty which should i purchase?

Not this topic again....

The lt1 will win drivers being equal bolt on for bolt on. Lt1s are a close race but when it starts getting moded a 2v will fall by the wayside. No replacement for displacement.

Well i test drove a 95 trans am with an lt1 today, i wasnt too pleased. granted there were 3 people in the car around 700lbs total but in first there was no breaking loose of the tires and when i shifted there was no breaking loose. stomach was in knots though. these tires are just summer tires

When i had only a cai, i raced my buddy's bone stock 6-speed 96 Z28. We raced twice from a second gear roll to around 120 mph. Each time i pulled little by little, until i had maybe a 1 to 1.5 car lead by the end of the race.

pretty much a dead even race. at least it was for me and my buddies 6spd 97.

and he ran 9.2 in the eighth with a 2.0 sixty...pretty much same as me give or take a tenth. both were stock

buy the mustang.. 2Vs arent as bad as everyone says. They'll last and they respond great to mods.
