Default WhitefoxGT

If you get a chance at work this week and you feel like doing a favor can you run my VIN and tell me if my tranny has been flushed at a Ford dealership or not? I have an apointment for inspection and a flush saturday but I remembered seeing some service on the CarFax so i'm wondering if it was done before I bought the car in September 2008. Thanks a lot in advance

Thanks a bunch.....two of those dont surprise me one damn bit.

My driver's side window has done the "sticking" thing twice since i've owned it in September of 2008. When you clicked it to go down you could hear the relay tap but nothing would happen. It stayed stuck for a 4-8 hour period and then would just work great again. I tried beating the dog **** out of the door and all those tricky things but it never worked it fixed itself both times.

As for the paint.....how much detail does it go into? Because i've noticed something.....the hood paint does not match the rest of the car. Its very slight but in the right angle of light you can definitely tell theres alot less of the metallic flake in the paint. The tone/color of the paint seems right it just doesnt have the same sparkle or metallic flake look at all. I've also noticed that theres a very very very distinctic "pop" at a certain point in my steering rack. It doesnt happen EVERY single time I pass that point, but it almost always pops when I first get in it and cross a certain point in my steering rack. The alignment was three times out of spec when I got it AND the front bumper still had a sticker on the bottom, though it was clearly weathered to the point that you couldnt read anything. Considering all of this....I think my stang was in a front end colission even though it wasnt listed on the CarFax.

Wow, my very own thread.

Seems as if Hoss got you what you needed to know.(I came up with the same info) As far as the window problem~~ extremely common. Simply (and expensive) a bad window motor. My girl's 03 sixxer does it all the time.. Quick slam on the door panel while holding the button works, hell she even does it herself now.

The pop could be a balljoint, tie rod end, strut bearing, control arm bushing, steering rack bushing, steering rack.... Your gonna have to have someone crawl under there while your doin it and pinpoint it more thoroughly.

Wow, my very own WhiteFoxGT

Yea as far as the pop, Id love to know what it is but it doesnt seem to have any ill effect at all aside from hearing quite a loud "POP!" a couple times as I turn the wheel throughout an average length's drive.

I remember researching the infamous window problem when it first happened to me. I've tried the hold the button down and smack the door thing and that did nothing both times that my window stuck. Fortunately its only happened twice in a year and it fixed itself the same day. Unless it ever totally craps out on me i'm not pulling the door part just to stare at the motor and follow wires for 2 hours again.

Yea replacing the window motor is quite the ordeal... Glass has to come out, regulator (motor is attached to that) Then the motor has a big *** spring on there that if your not careful can take fingers off... trust me
