I would at least run it at the track and dyno it first to see how well all my work turned out. The reason I like to see numbers is to see what's speculation and what is fact in different combos.

I will be swapping in my wifes engine into the 96 then selling it. I've got all winter to do it since my wife isn't really in a hurry either. I've actually already taken my suspension and wheels off my car and put them on hers. My cars sitting on jackstands, lol. I don't know if there's anyway i'd change my mind to go back to my car, it's just been just a PITA.

As far as putting the mod motor in the old muscle, I've really considered it but there are a lot more things that go into any old car before it can be just dropped in. Maybe later on down the road but I'm not keeping around the engine for a long term project that I may or may not use.
Well Sir what a perfect time for you to install a nice griggs GR 40 SLA Watts link

I can't count how many times I "finished" a project and then immediately parted it out and moved on to something else.

I might be getting an old car a lot sooner than I thought. I'm going to look at a 71 Mach1 tomorrow; I hope it's straight.

I know most people don't like the big body 71-73 but the price is right and I like them.

I think your relationship with your car is like having a Psycho Girlfriend/Wife. Sure She is Hot and Great in Bed but she just doesn't fill the void but you stay with her hopping one day she will.
Your car you dump all the Mod $ into it hopping that it will make you happy and it never does.
I should be able to get a pic of the Yellow sport roof over by me today. I'll send it to your phone

Sometimes the dream of having is more satisfying than the having. If you've done this several times before then it sounds like you enjoy the journey more then the destination.

I feel ya man. I've had my 03 built and boosted for about 2 years now and all I'm looking at doing now is building up a classic.

I dont even want a fastback...well i do, but for the $$$, you can usually get a nice 69 coupe in much better condition...plus the 69's coupes lines are much more ballsier than the 64.5-68 coupes...

was also contimplating building up either an old ford galaxie/460 or a SCJ gran torino...something a little more unique than a mustang haha. I dunno. I'm getting bored with my 03 because I'm waaaaaay over street racing and I live two hours from the nearest dragstrip. Driving my sh*t with 550+ rwhp to work through 30 miles of stop and go traffic gets old....
