Default Cold Air Preferences

Going to get a CAI, but before I do, I thought I would see what you guys think and what you would prefer. what has worked the best for you and given you the most gains? thanks for your advice!

JLT. i run the ram air, but they have a really good fenderwell intake. the K&N FIPK II is another good one, anything with plastic or pvc piping. stay away from the aluminum heat soaking generic intakes.

If you do get a fenderwell just be careful in the rain.. my buddy had an 87 and got caught in a downpour hit a deep puddle and sucked water in his intake.. seized the engine =( it wouldn't turn over, however looking on the bright side he's doing a complete rebuild =)

heat soaked... does lets say...the bbk unit....yes it gets hot...but does the air traveling through really have enough time to heat up to make a difference. Are there tests that prove this or is it all hear say... As for dyno tests...the difference in tube sizing could play a role considering the jlt is huge compared to the bbk but not sure if the "heat soaked" plays a big role.
