1999 GT, Car wont start after sitting for 2 days!!!! HELP!!!
Ok, so a couple weeks ago I went on vaction for a week. When I got home the car was completely dead. The keyless entry remotes wont work and nothing happens when I turn the key. I jumped the car and drove it for about an hour and everything worked fine again, no problems. Well, I let the car sit for two days this weekend and now I have the same problem. I have noticed that the red Theft light is always blinking but I dont think that this is a problem with the PATS. Could the battery be drained after only two days of the light flashing? Why is the light flashing in the first place? Also, I may have screwed something up when I tried rewireing my fogs to work independently. The fogs only work when the car is actually running and the headlights are on now. Could that be draining the battery? Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated. This is my daily driver so I am trying to figure this out ASAP.

Has the battery ever been replaced? If not, its likely time for a new battery. If something is draining your battery, it may be the wiring for your fogs, try disconnecting it and replacing the battery. Retrace your wiring and see if you could have made a mistake somewhere, if bare wire is touch the frame, etc. If you are bale to jump it, your alternator is fine, so I would start with the battery.

It is normal for the Theft light to blink once every two seconds when the car is off.
A high current load tester will tell you if the battery is on it's way out--Harbor Freight has a competent 100A tester for $20, that is often on sale for $10...

sounds like a battery to me, jumping it will get it started then the alternator kinda takes over. If you never charged the battery, then it just went dead again. I would just buy one, either that or buy a tester or take it to a shop and get it tested, but I am sure they will just say the same, get a battery.

Thanks for the quick responses. When I bought the car I put a new battery in it. That was a year and a couple months ago. The battery should be fine still. I hope its not the fog light wiring that is causing this. I have tried to rewire at least three times and I am apparently electronically handicapped. I wish some one could show me with pictures on a 1999 mustang. Every how-to I read helps but the wire colors are different or I am just stupid. I think I may have cut and spliced too many times. I am not sure I can even get it back to stock now.
