Default Would this make a good commuter car?

Hey guys, not sure if this is in the right section, but I am hoping I will get an answer. I am having very serious thoughts about getting a cheap, but reliable commuter car. I need something that gets good mileage and has enough room to throw a couple bikes into it.

Here it is....help please!

I am in the middle of researching these cars a little bit. Does anyone know anything about typical problems and such? Any info on these cars would be awesome. I am going to try to familiarize myself with them in the mean time.

I really don't have much experience with the early Subaru models. The newer ones are really nice.

And, you're question regarding a good commuter car is horrible! LOL! I mean, I think a big block Chevelle would make a great commuter car as does my Mustang GT. Many people think a Honda Accord is a great commuter car- how freaking boring! Remember, it's not about the miles per gallon, it's about the fun per gallon!

A guy I work with has one similar to that. It wont die, the thing just wont die. Not that hes trying to kill it, but it's a reliable car for him.

I am a recent college grad so in light of that, I need something that gets good mileage and I also want to keep miles off the Mustang. It really upsets me when people don't leave phone numbers on CL adds....geeze!

you bought your mustang to drive it. who cares if you put miles on it. and your mustang is not going to get much worse gm than that thing. maybe 1-2 miles per gallon.

if you dont spend all your money on stupid crap ull have money for gas.. iv never had a problem with it and im a poor old college student.

yes i would drive your mustang and wouldn't be caught dead driving that thing. By the time you add cost of purchase, registering/titling, insurance, and any car problems you have you spend more than your gas difference.

Good luck in what ever you decide.
