Default What headers to use w/ SLP X pipe

I have an SLP X pipe and I want to get some long tube headers. The SLP pipes says only the SLP headers will fit. Does anyone else have the X pipe with a different brand headers? I don;t want to pay $850 for SLP headers.

SLP long tube headers is about the only way you can go.

I know people have mixed and matched when it comes to headers and mid pipes, but i wouldn't do it. You never know...it could be a real pita just because you wanted to save a couple of bucks. Why take that chance?

You could buy the SLP headers used, or sell the x pipe, and by another brand x with matching headers.

Well, I have Pacesetter shortie headers and they fit fine. Of course, I'm a different year/model, but mine have the flared opening at the collector flange. I'm willing to bet you can mix/match, as well. They listed that mine work with either shortie or long tube, but that would eliminate the flared flange downpipe, so maybe that's where you'd run into an issue. I'd have to see what your X looks like up front, I guess. My two cents here...

It looks like every other X-pipe that SLP makes for the New Edge. The only LT's you ca use are SLP.

It's the same thing. It's a three pice mid pipe comes with down pipe for shortie's the LT's connect to the cat's or race pipe, and then you have the X section.

i have heard of the slp x fitting with other brand lt's, such as bbk. but i honestly would get a midpipe that was meant for the specific headers. i had a slp x, and got a vrs x that was supposedly a match my mac headers. i still had to manhandle it to get it to fit.
