My friend that has the nitrous running 345rwhp and 460rwtq blew his driver side axle to pieces on 295-35-18 m/t drag radials launching on the bottle. Everyone that i know around my home town, and i mean literally everyone, that is running nitrous that launches on the spray have a built rear because running sticky tires, you might not snap an axle on the first launch or the second, but eventually your axles will snap. Plus nobody on here's axles are brand new stock axles and are probably stressed from spirited driving or dd abuse and such.

It's really a roll of the dice. I have been doing it for over a year now, and everything is fine. Even the stock clutch shows no signs of excessive wear. I know it's a matter of time, but i'm really surprised how well things have held up.

This may be the exception to the rule, but it does show the stock setup is stronger than you may think.

well you are running nitto's...and he is running m/t's at the time. There is a huge difference between them. And he was launching at 3500rpm. Dont know what you launch at and dont know what your e/t's and traps are, but he hasnt been able to run his car down the track a full length since he's had the nitrous. but he coasted through the traps to a mid 12 after blowing his intake manifold to pieces with the mickey's. he runs nitto 555r's now and he just spins whereas with the m/t's he would hook dead. plus he has full tubular rear suspension with all spherical rod ends with an airbag in the right rear. But when he snapped his axle, he was stock suspension with stock shocks, an airbag in the right rear set at 20psi i think, and sportlines.

Yeah, i'm sure the m/t's are hooking better than my nitto's, which makes a difference. I do launch around 3.5k with a quick slip of the clutch. If i drop it they're spinning pretty hard.
