Interesting that you top out at 110mph in 4th. now when u say top out, you mean MAX mph??. lol.. That's hard to believe in a GT with your mods
It's cheaper to make 400rw (or close to it) with a blower than it is to make 300rw with bolt ons. As they said above, you'll need heads cams and exhaust. The best Hp bolt on bang for the buck is cams. Heads are a good net of about 30-45 depending on the heads. (I gained 35rw) With our small bore, it's the sum of all parts that we really see a difference, not the individual part.

With my initial setup, my blower, smaller pulley, Innercooler and tune cost me just over $4k and that made 440rw. If 300ish is all you really want then why waste your time with a turbo? IMO although more efficient, They should be meant for High Hp numbers unless of course you just want to say you have a turbo. Which is cool too.

When you say STS, do you mean the rear mounted turbo kits? Last time I talked to the owner he wasn't building them anymore because he couldn't keep the cost down enough for cheap pre-05 mustang owners, lol. Are you looking at building one of their universal kits? Single or twin?

RPM is what kills the end of the quarter and 4.10's but that's assuming you're running a shorter rear tire. A lot of hardcore people combat this by having a set of taller slicks for the track. But at that point it turns into a whole different monster.

What he means is that at 110 mph in 4th you'll be at redline. Which means it's time to shift. Gears will lower the total top speed of each individual gear, but will get you through them faster...thus you'll accelerate faster.

I have to agree with most here. Gears, exhaust, and tune are going to be you're best bolt ons in terms of performance. Gears are not something you should do yourself, unless you have the proper tools and experience.

I think the first question is are you planning on going F/I, or staying N/A?

I was very happy with my catback as first mod, b/c everytime you start the car, you're gonna smile (also a mod that doesn't matter if you're going f/i or n/a).

Oh, I also think he was saying STS for short throw shifter, not turbo, but could be wrong.

Yes! This ^^^^ plus adding a STS would make a fun car and get you at or around your 300rwhp goal.

I hate to talk about gears cause there are SO MANY threads already out there about them, but get 4.10s. If your worried about running out of gear at the track, taller rear tires will fix that.

But first it sounds like you have some researching to do before you start buying all these parts. Good luck!

Exhaust
Tuner

or

Tuner
Exhaust

then other stuff...

The OEM 87 octane tune has pathtically conservative ignition timing, and is overly rich at WOT, to make sure no one will blow up the engine.

Even a "canned" 87 octane tune will add 5-7 HP in the mid-range at WOT, and 3-5 HP peak.

An optimised 93 octane tune (see below), and opening up the exhaust will add 10-20HP in the mid-range and 5 or 6 HP peak. Add a 70 mm TB and upper plenum and you'll be able to pull strongly to redline.

93 octane basics:
  • 4.0° to 4.5° added global advance;
  • 2.0° to 2.5° in the Spark Borderline table;
  • properly set low and high injector slopes;
  • perhaps some MAF transfer function tweaking;
