what do you usually drive around? Do you pay much more in insurance, is it not so bad?
I ask because once I s/c the car, I want to look into a second means of transportation. But I could be happy in a $1000.00 Honda, as long as it safe, and doesn't skyrocket my insurance bill.
What do you guys do to take miles off your mustang?

DEFNITELY buy a Honda or Nissan(don't like Toyota). They're extremely reliable and of course they contribute to your wallet much more than your mustang. I had a 97 Nissan sentra. It was in really good condition. I could run the a/c all day and not worry about anything, except staying away from them 18 wheelers. haha So alittle negative on the safety part, but I'd say buying one of these economical cars would greatly benefit you!

I bought a 2005 Kio Rio (go ahead and laugh) with 15k for $4500, and it still had 2 years left on the waranty. My insurance is like $50 a month.
The car has been extremely reliable, and gets around 35 mpg. The car looks like s**t, but now that extra $$$ can go into my stang!

My mustang is just a fun car. I was able to get it insured with a few of my muscle cars under the same type of policy. I currently have 5 cars insured with the company for 400.00. There is a mileage limit but you can chose that. I will get the company name in the morning and post it for you.

Daily the stang, but when i get around to it, i think im gonna try to find myself something thats a fun little dd. Something like a mazda miata or toyota celica or something thats still a little sporty. But that would kill insurance. but a civic(not riced out) or a toyota corolla would work well for you. My dad sold a corolla to a guy back in the early 90's and he still has it and its getting ready to click 1,000,000 miles.

My DD is a 97 explorer. Its a piece, but it gets me to work and back and if someone runs into me... oh well. Only paid $700 for it with 104,xxx miles. Still runs strong though.
I would def suggest getting a DD. It would suck really bad if you finish your car how you want it and have spent all your time and money on it only to have some dumb@ss run into you and total it...

I pay $110 a month for the Mustang and the Ram (24, unmarried, 2 violations). I must admit that it's very nice having a DD, I bet I only wash my car twice a year and I've only put 10k miles on my car in 3 years now.
Also, I don't know how far you have to commute but you could also buy a bike to get around.
