rear end noise?? please help!
 

Hello everyone I've got a 1998 Mustang cobra and every time I go over a bump the rear of my car makes a thud noise and it does'nt have to be a very big speed bump. Also when I let out of the clutch to go forward while making a sharp turn I hear a rattle kind of like the rear thud type noise I hear when going over bumps. Its been doing this for about 6 months or so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

any advice

Check your tailpipes where they go over the axle. Sometimes they will hit the framerail and make a sound like your describing. Mine does it every now and then.

Mine does that and it bugs the crap out of me. Do you know any way of fixing this problem? I went back a year after I installed my exhaust and reinstalled everything from the h-pipe back. It got rid of the sound for a little but it is back again.

You can loosen where the tailpipes clamp onto the mufflers then rotate the tailpipe towards the center of the car about 1/2"-1". That should help. You'll just have to take a look at where it is actually hitting to know how much to move it.

Modify your exhaust to Turn Downs. Should be a permanent fix to that problem =)
