He, he still ought to be running faster than a 14.0, especially with that 60' which I would consider to be pretty good for an automatic with DR's.

Sounds like you might be having the same kind of issues that 99 gt vert was having. He had similar mods to you, maybe a few more actually, and he couldn't break out of the 14's either. I also believe he was on an aftermarket intake manifold.

yep sounds like the same problem i had but mine is worse the best time for me was a 13.9 with a 100 shot and 14.4 na

but the first thing you need to do is get to a decent track us 41 is absolutely horrible i know of highways that hook up better than 41

get it on the dyno and see were you stop making power and have the tuner set the shift point according to that.

i plan on taking my car to bob kurgan here soon. i just have to buy a tuner. and when i get the money i'm going to do cams and heads. but that might be a while. also i got a good price on some 4.10's, and a shift kit, so i might do that, but i'm not sure. is there anything else that i can do?

I have a 4.10 gear in my car, and I'm a manual, so things might play out a bit different for me than you, but has anyone considered his 330' time?? I've got the 60' down pretty decent in my car, I slip the clutch pretty far out, and it shows if the track isn't great in my 330' rather than my 60'. On a good pass, I 60' in the mid 1.9s and 330' in the mid 5.6s. On a sub-par pass, I might 60' in the mid 1.9s and 330' in the 5.8s. On a bad track my car might 60' ok, but when I finally get the clutch all the way out it'll blow the tires and it shows in the 330'. I suspect your launch is going bad past the 60' by the look of your 330' time. If you can get your 330' in the low 5.7 to mid 5.6 area, I'd be will to bet you'd be on a mid 13 pass.

Last time I was at us 41 there was grass growing in each lane about half way down so they do no prep past the first 100 feet or so. When I was there I ran a 15.1 with just my intake manifold and cat back

I know up here at Atco, for a track rental they only prep to the 330' unless you pay extra to get it sprayed to the 1/8th or full 1/4. On gambler's night's though, it's a pretty nice track, they really take care of the dragster guys. Regular street/test n' tune nights, forget it.

yeah i went on a test and tune night, and one of the cars i raced against was a low 9 second hemi, and his best pass was against me, and it was a 10.3. i agree the track sucks. i've always thought about going with a 100 shot, but soooo many people say don't do nitrous. i guess the first thing i need to buy is a tuner. AM has a bundle with 4.10's and a sct tuner for 539, maybe i'll end up getting that, but then it's another $100-200 for a custom tune. but i know one of my problems is my tune, so after i get the x pipe on, i'll invest in the tuner and some dyno time. should i even bother puting the aluminum intake on?

how slow were you shifting. i can run a 1/8 mile in 9 flat and thats with npi heads and stock gear and street tires (245). so you might need some practice

Well we've already found among other things that his car is an auto, and is shifting a decent amount out of powerband at 6K. But I agree, the car looks to be lacking something in top end from the times. Do you have your 1/8th speed?
