Definetly agree with you that tires should be the #1 or #2 thing on his list. The nice part about Shocks/Struts is that they'll improve ride quality and give him far better handling. You could get the same results from tires as well, but tires like NT05's would hurt his ride quality a bit. I personally am going to go with the Nitto Invos because of their high ratings in ride quality and wet/dry grip, they arent the best performance tire but I think the increase in ride quality and wet grip is a good tradeoff for myself since my car isnt just a weekend cruiser.

this is what im running on my car and its a very good set up. lowering springs, C/C (-1.0 camber front) sub frame connectors front/ rear strut brace, bump stop.and full 10pt roll cage(stiffins the car like crazy). i fell like im missing a few things so when i remember ill edit them in. but i can definitely work a lot of cars on mountain roads and at the track.

Op I run auto x on a staggered set up, DR on the back (decided I like twisties a few weeks to late before I got the tires) and falken azneis up front. The new tires up front really took away the understeer. So like everyone else, +1 on tires

hey good call on going with the twisties... anyone can drive a straight line fast. its when you come to the turn you blow everyone away. that's why my engine is kinda stock and all my money goes into suspension. even for having a solid rear end it does really really well. a lot of racers I race with are very surprised how well it does. since mustang is a "straight line" car
p.s. buy some hoosier r6's you wont regret it. your car wont feel like your car with those tires. its amazing what they do

They dont aren't that bad, i hardly get sideways and feel planted most of the time, biggest problem has been the understeer, but with those new tires at the last autox after 16 runs, I let my friend use my car since his bmw broke on the way to the event, there was alot less understeer. Biggest problem after that was break fade.
