Default Anyone paint their alternator?

I have searched for a few days now and can not find the picture of the mustang with the painted alternator. I was wondering how hard this is and if I need to disassemble the alternator to do it. If so is there anything I have to be careful of?

Two ways: mask all the internals or disassemble it. I masked it off. The winded coil doesn't matter but the fins and center vents do.

Seriously who would be stupid enough to try and paint it on the car??? I was going to try and take it apart to paint it. Anything I need to watch out for when taking it apart?

I powder coated one a while ago. He never sent me a picture with it on. I don't remeber anything difficult about taking it apart. In my opinion I think it looks like crap when paint gets on the wires if you leave it together and paint

OK I take that back, I'm sure some moron would try it on the car. My friedn stated that if I took it apart that the brushes would have to be realigned.
