my 01 gt had plenty of passing power in 5th and that was with little modifications with stock 3.27's.....there might be something wrong with your car bud if you cant sail past people in 5th

You have gears? At 35mph with my 3.27's 4th runs 2000RPM, 5th runs closer to 1300RPM.

Depends on how fast you are going. If I am doing 50, then passing power blows in 5th, but if I am at 60MPH or higher, it's decent.

Oh there is nothing wrong with the car, especially with only 20,000 on the clock. I just know it takes more effort passing in 5th then 4th. At higher speeds it does much better as mentioned above, but just takes longer to overtake another vehicle.

That's why you downshift to pass........

Manuals are meant to be shifted. The same way an auto downshifts when you give it gas to pass someone.

If you are at 2000rpm at 35mph in 4th gear, you DO NOT have stock gears...im at 2000rpms at 35 with 4.10's!!! So therefore you do not have 3.27's. You probably have 4.10's and someone never told you. Cus with stock gears in my car, i was running 1500rpm at 35mph in 4th gear and below or right at 1000rpm at 35 in 5th gear.

Thats the link to cliffyk's website. Go into the gear calculator and input your proper tire size and you will see from the info on his calculator and the info from what you've stated, you have 4.10's, not 3.27's unless what you told us is not true.
