Default 2000 Mustang GT flashing gauges

This started the past couple of days. When my car sits for a while like maybe a couple hours then i turn it on all my gauges flash to the max then go back down to normal than go to where they should be at idle. Now this happened once before when I left my radio on for a while then started my car. So i figured it was a battery problem. But now its happening often. Anyone know what this problem is?

If you are referring to what I think you are, that is what it normally does when you turn the key. The gauges peg and come back.

Is it hurting something or making the gauges read incorrectly? If not it is normal, don't worry about it. I have a 00gt and it does the same thing. I never noticed that it does it all the time but it is a normal thing for a lot of cars.

Check fuse #21, 5A, in the central junction box (under the dash)...

no that wasn't the problem. In fact there is no 21 5A under there. There is only a 21 b under there. anyone else know what might be causing this?

take it to an advance and get the whole system checked(free of charge)...im thinking it could be your battery or alternator

Usually signs of a bad battery. At least mine was.
