i have a 98 mustang gt with the 4.6 and those crappy 2v low pi heads. weellll my dad and i weren't satisfied with that power so we looked into different things. didnt want a pushrod because i wont be tracking this car and we are def. keeping it ford (for my friends who suggested dropping an ls1 bull**** in there) i bought a 5.4 4valve off of a guy whos wife totalled her lincoln navigator a while ago and have been building it since then. i have suullivan air and fuel delivery....all of it. good stuff. i'm starting today around 2ish and i should be finished tomorrow eevening.....hopefully. i'll post pics. of the swap and all that. i'll also keep you guys up to date if you are interested. have a great friday all.

OP, you can get 1" spacers for your k member to lower it down...that should free up an inch of hood clearance, and then you may be able to pull off a 3 or 4 inch hood
sxynerd, chime in here...you had that friend with the 5.4 4v saleen...how was hood clearance?

he may have to run with a hole cut in whatever hood he has...unless he has a ridiculous cowl...but i think 4" would be the max i would be willing to run on the street
