I can personally tell you that you will feel torque a lot more than horsepower... in general. Just take a ride in a nitrous car, then a supercharged car, and you'll see what i mean.
With that being said there is no magical hp or torque number that promises (within reason of course) to push you into your seat. Besides it's a matter of perception or opinion as well. Gearing, throttle response, grip, etc...all have a part in it too.

You will never feel it really pin you to the seat because your ready for it when you mash the gas. My poor GF gets sucked up in the seat every time I get on the highway or something like that lol.. so a geared bolt on car will do it for a passenger. For the driver to feel it though you would most likely need a crapton.

Don't be discouraged because you don't feel the pin. You are hanging on the steering wheel. The passenger is not and feels a totally different thing. When my car was just bolt ons, my friends would say it would pin them. Riding feels a lot different than driving.

Agreed. I have ridden in my own car and it feels so much faster than when I am driving.
