I have ridden in two cars that could slide me back to the seat. My friends 97 Corvette and my uncles 69 Z28 DZ302. Both of those make close to 350HP and hook up well.

I can personally tell you that you will feel torque a lot more than horsepower... in general. Just take a ride in a nitrous car, then a supercharged car, and you'll see what i mean.

With that being said there is no magical hp or torque number that promises (within reason of course) to push you into your seat. Besides it's a matter of perception or opinion as well. Gearing, throttle response, grip, etc...all have a part in it too.

For the driver to feel it though you would most likely need a crapton.
Haha +1 i do it to my girl all the time.

Don't be discouraged because you don't feel the pin. You are hanging on the steering wheel. The passenger is not and feels a totally different thing. When my car was just bolt ons, my friends would say it would pin them. Riding feels a lot different than driving.

Agreed. I have ridden in my own car and it feels so much faster than when I am driving.
