Default how to adjust the clutch pedal, so it will engage lower?

ok so here is the deal. my clutch pedal rides way to high. now im not really sure how u do this but i think my friend puts it in neutral and presses the clutch a couple times and than holds it. i dont have his number so can anyone clarify for me? i know it works he did it for me when we used to work together i just not sure what he did. um its for a 01 mustang gt. if anyone know and can chime in thanks a bunch

You can set the auto adjust by pulling the clutch pedal up. That might help you.

Hopefully Cliffy will chime in because he linked me a great article on how to adjust the clutch that is a much better way of adjusting it for performance also, but it is a little more complicated. I will try to pull it up if I still have it.

That way is by taking something hard like the handle of a screwdriver and go up under the dash at the top of the clutch pedal. Then, you will see a hook (white color, Same as the quadrant). with something hard, you can press up on the hook and you will hear a click. try out the pedal and if it still is enough, if not do it one more click but no more than 2 total clicks. hope this helps.

Here's the link to the manual adjustment method...

There should be 1-1/4" to 1-5/8" freeplay in the pedal (press on the pedal with your hand, it should depress that distance before you feel the ToB start to press on the clutch spring) when properly adjusted.
