aluminum driveshaft
went to have my driveshaft loop put in today and the installer informed me the driveshaft had to be dropped out to put it in, so he is going to install it friday. he told me if i wanted, since the driveshaft has to be dropped out anyway, he would put the aluminum one in for me.
so my question is, is the aluminum driveshaft worth having?
how much would it help my track times?
would i gain wheel horsepower?
any problems? what is the downside to installing this?
thanks for any help

When I put on my aluminum driveshaft I felt like there was a difference. Seemed like there was less resistance on the way the car drove or accelerated. Also makes highway speeds more stable on the car. They really dont do that much but might as well if you have it and its going to be taken off anyways. When I took mine off i didnt even loose any trans fluid either.

even when you drain the fluid there is still enough left over to come out the tail shaft.
OP: how much does he want for the swap and install?

he said no more than 2 hours of labor so 180, and i think thats a lot to just have a loop put in but im unfortunately not going to have the proper equipment to do it myself, so he said if the aluminum driveshaft comes with everything needed to swap it out he'll just throw it in for me, so the labor would basically be free for the driveshaft swap...
do these aluminum driveshafts come with everything assembled and ready to just be swapped? what kind and where did u guys get urs?

yea i knew that, just didnt know if it would show like a dyno number increase or if it was only a difference felt...
and i am definately interested in doing this now that i have read the american muscle reviews, i just would like to find this thing cheaper than $240 or i wont be able to afford to get it right now =/
anyone know where to find it a little cheaper?

Other than the fact every little bit theoretically helps (even if you can't really feel it) i honestly couldn't feel a difference.
If you don't have anything else you want to buy in that price range, then i guess it's maybe worth it imo.
