Alright guys... so i have been debating lately and i really love the way the cobra mirrors look, but i refuse to spend $250+ on side view mirrors and than have to pay to get them painted.. although they are veryyy nice, it's just not pheasible to me. i want to try to do something with the regular mirrors that nobody has ever really done...

I'm not looking to paint the whole mirror itself, although i think that it looks pretty nice...

i was looking to either sand the whole mirror down and than paint the mirror portion red and than where it lays parallel to the window black

option 2 would be to keep the black part parellel to the window stock and sand the mirror portion on the mirror and spray it red

i wish i had photoshop and knew how to work it so that i can give you guys examples of what im looking for, but just imagine having the cobra mirror paint scheme, but without the cobra mirrors lol...

anybody have any ideas? i'll see if xeno or somebody else can chop some pics up..

in the meantime, anybody want to give their opinions of my idea or post some pictures that they have of painted GT/v6/mach/99,01 cobra mirrors?

i was thinking that with the part parallel to the window black it would look good, then i look at the pictures and thought it would look really akward with the red just kinda hanging out there and not really fusing into the car. if you sprayed the part parallel to the window red and leave the mirror black that would be cool.

Ox's car is definitely one sexy beast... and to think, he has the cobra bumpers on there now and all that jazz... those pics are from a while ago

silverscmustang, i'm jsut as confused as you as to what would actually look good haha.

i posted up in the chop shop so hopefully someone can get to it today or tomorrow

i want my mirrors to look like cobra mirrors, but the black part that extends on the cobra mirrors has to be red..idk how to explain it.

after seeing that picture id say if i was doing it myself i would just paint the part thats parallel to the windows red and then if it was me id get gloss black or maybe just flat black and paint the mirrors that way. Im looking at that picture and think that would look really good and it would be more of a custom look
