Default 01 SALEEN.. good for autocross?

hey guys..

im looking for an older mustang, and on ebay i saw this 01 SALEEN for dirt cheap.. i am just interested in what anyone with experience in this car, would say about the suspension..

in the s197 body, between the Roush, and the GT500, the roush beats it as far as a road course car all day long from what ive read and seen.. theres even a test that motortrend did and shows how much better the Roush is on the road course..

so basically, i want to know if its got a good suspension, or is it basically all body and appearance..

The S197 has a better suspension set up than the SN95's. Just autocross your current car. The Saleens use Racecraft components and will be better than a stock GT but still have the same ****ty 4 link and front suspension geometry. If you are racing SCCA or NASA then it would be different because of the classing. You wouldn't have to worry as much about modding the car.

Jazzer's car is ridiculously modified. He is running SLA up front IIRC.

Ma eeas u burnin' ova hee

If you wanna go AX, just take whatever ride you own and go do eet! AX is a driver-mod endeavor, so just go out and learn not only the limitations of your ride, but MORE importantly.... YOUR limitations as a driver

I get much less modded 4 banger rides beat me all the time. Although, I run a much heavier ride and don't have the HP to keep up with the big boys (Z06's and such). Asside from that, most just have more experience than me, so kick my **** by 4 seconds or so on a 1 minute course

jazzer's right. back when i owned my 99 z28, my buddy would hang with me on tight tracks with a 4 cylinder bmw 318ti. his car handled 10x better. on open tracks i could smoke him but i had 435 rwhp.

Jazzer is right. I should have mentioned this.

I simply answered which would be more capable.

^ The jmac is correct as he was answering the question. But I am sure we all agree that pepes need to work on the driver-mod, before the car
