Comp XE268AH vs XE270AH

I guess anything can happen, but that's really weird that the 268's would do better. The 270's have more lift which = more power, more duiration which = more power, and a tighter lsa which = more power lol.

Alright this is really interesting to me...so what are you saying in the end? Would a Hitech stage 2 get more power then a 268? Cuz im looking into cams in the spring, and i want the most power i can get for the buck.

^^^ According to cam specs, like mrtstang said the 270 should be making more power than the 268 due to a larger lift and longer duration. When comparing the Hitech stage 2 cams and the 270, it seems the 270 would get you more power then the Hitech stage 2 cams again due to the larger lift and duration.

Its not all in the lift lol

With full bolt ons hitech stage 2s regularly get 300 RWHP I have yet to see a 270 cam grind get into the 290s..

^^^ That is interesting. Do all the cam specs use the same scale to figure out lift, duration and LSA? I ask because according to SPECS, I would think the 270 makes more power due to the longer exhaust duration and lift (intake is the same).
There is a member in here that has the 270s and he makes 288rwhp with full exhaust, CAI and a dyno tune.

The Hitechs will make more power on stock PI heads, because they address the intake side where the PI motor needs it. By keeping the specs down on the exhaust side, while maximizing intake side, it ensures that the already strong exhaust flow does get over scavanged. This is why the Hitechs are so sucessful.
So, even though the 270's look stronger on paper, they don't have it where it counts basically.

^^^ Ya I was wondering why people would say the Hitechs are better on the PI motor because they addressed the intake side when the 270s had the same intake duration and larger exhaust duration with a larger lift. But your explanation makes sense.
