well you've got the tune down. and if you get gears, you can tune your car for the new gears. so thats a good thing

i don't have gears in my car, but i think that i may pick up a set of 3.73's myself. Everybody says that they are the best thing to do to these cars. A lot of people here get 4.10's. If you are an auto, i would suggest you get some 4.10's.

Gears, midpipe, catback. that'll give you the sound, and some added "fun"

Did you notice a difference in just the tune? I am leaning towards the same set up plus a mid pipe. From what I have read, tune, gears and mid pipe are good starters.

Well i know a guy down the street from me had 3.73's and he couldn't really tell a difference from stock. He switched to 4.10's and he LOVES them. He was talking to me all day about them hahaha. I also drove his car with the 3.73's and i thought it was a turd compared to my 5 spd...

He loves his 4.10's though. Plus it's been said that in an automatic, go with 4.10 or go home. Do your own research though! Don't take my word for it. CliffyK has his gear calculator to tell what RPM you are at at any given mph. Just put in your transmission type and tire sizes if need be. This may help you decide which gear to get.

your friend has issues if you can't tell the difference between stock gears and 3.73s lol... i could understand 3.55s but really haha.

I would go with the 3.73s personally, a little more practical, and after driving my buddies Kennebelled stang with 4.10s, I'm spinning all the way through 3rd. A little too much if you every decide to go forced induction, but again it is all personal choice, everyone likes something different and there is no one "right" gear/part for everyone.

Or as said above comprise and go 3.90s

I have 373s and they were okay when I was NA, but wish I would have had 410s. Then I got a blower and am now glad I didn't swap to 410s. Some run a blower and 410s and promote, a lot of others don't. I would say if you plan on FI then go 373s, if plan on NA then 410s no doubt, unless you are a person who cares about 1mpg loss.

I would probably do gears next for the most noticable difference, but I honestly don't know if I would recommend 3.73s or 4.10s. My 96 has 4.10s, installed by the previous owner, and while they sure do give a lot of kick, I have to shift to 2nd almost instantly, and my gas mileage is a horrible 15ish mixed driving, MAYBE 16 or 17 on the highway, probably due to it turning nearly 3000 RPM at ~72 mph. Now, the gas mileage isn't a big deal considering that it is a relatively powerful V8, but to me, first gear is nearly unusable; in fact, I often just start in 2nd gear. I'm seriously contemplating going down to 3.73s, but will probably wait until I know if I'm going S/C or not to make my final decision.

Now, with an auto, it might be a completely different story, since the gears are taller to begin with and there are only 4.
