Got my windshield broken today. Anyone know where to get one?
Driving down the road today and some asswipe in a lifted jeep came flying out of a rock driveway and kicked a rock up right into my windshield. I was doing the posted speed limit of 70MPH, so it did a number on the glass. It shattered the outer layer in about a half dollar sized circle and sent a line about 8 inches across my field of view. Fu*king pissed doesn't even begin to describe my mood right now. As fast as I was going and the way he was driving, I had no chance of getting his license plate number. I probably could have ran him down, but there was no proof that he caused it, so I am windshield hunting. Anyone know where I can get a new one for cheap? I am looking for the cheapest option and I am not afraid to install it myself.

Cheapest of cheap? Junk yard, probably.
A lot of insurance companies will cover that, though. You might have to pay a deductible. I'd check first with them, that way if it doesn't cost you much, you get a brand new windshield professionally installed, and you don't have to hassle installing it yourself, and if there's a problem, you can bitch at the company that installed it.

Should have swerved around on the road, hit a tree, roll about 20 times then get out just in time to see it go up in flames. Then sue his *** for the car, pain and suffering, and mental anguish. 12.5mil sounds like a good settlement
Anyways, it sucks that it happened, check the glass shops, and scrap yards.

Most places are like a couple hundred bucks max and even come to you to repair it. I ha a car repaired in the parking lot at work ontime while I was on lunch Do the replacement windshields still have the pony at the top of them? Mine needs to be replaced when I get back to the lower 48...has a rock embedded in it basically lol

QTF! Some insurance companies will fix it for free. (At least mine will.)

I used Safelite for my wife's Jeep a few months ago. It was $250 and they came out to her work and fixed it in the parking lot. Very convenient if you're on a tight schedule and they did very good work.
