Can Sniper pull codes from non-Ford cars?

Default Can Sniper pull codes from non-Ford cars?

just wondering, because my friend's CEL is on but he drives a Jeep so idk if it will work

He can always go to autozone or the equivalent and they will pull the code for free for him... At least they do here anyways.

I think you my be able to get em if its an OBD-II car. I know the Data Scout can for sure do any OBD-II car and data log it also.

If by "Sniper" you mean Recon, the answer is no. It is a Ford EEC-V based product. Sniper's (Delta Force) OBD2 Data Scout can read all vehicles.

But frankly, for just pulling DTCs the easiest way is to pick up a cheap hand-held universal tool. I have a higher-end Actron unit, however Harbour Frieght has one (click here, and don't let the "CAN" part fool you) for $60--often on sale for $40--that is quite competent for just pulling DTCs...

oh, well that sucks. i was hoping that the Recon function could be used sort of like a universal scanner. thanks guys
