Default Shaker System (ram air) VS...

So besides the mustang shaker systems looking sweet are they much better then just having a good aftermarket plenum, throttle body, CAI combo as far as HP goes?

And what are the Approx horsepower gains for each?

Word around the campfire on hp gains with a shaker is "no". They just look bitchin. TB, CAI, and plenum combo usually should be worth 10-20 rwhp.

This is about the simplest explanation of why ram-air doesn't work that I have ever seen...

ahaha im with you Nerd...took 2 fluids classes and 2 chemistry classes in school (Mechanical Engineering degree) it was deff and interesting read, but does make sense.

some people may try to relate a garden hose/water example.. if you put your thumb over the end you get higher pressure/velocity and thus creating a converging nozzle so to do that to air must be the same... but cant be since water is not compressible.

if you take a cubic foot of water down in the ocean 300ft it has the same weight and density as if you only took it 3 ft down. but air compresses and does not have same density and weight at posted depths. hence why submarines have to be built to withstand the pressure since inside is filled with air.
