mine use to leak and water would get in there, turns out to be a crack along the top of it. so i patched it and stopped replacing bulbs all the time. I did this mod right when i got it, i like using them as driving lights, looks sweet. I think you can use this mod with convertibles because all you do is splice into the power of the convertible to power the switch. The switch isn't a direct circuit to the lights, rather a secondary one to power a relay to trip the main circuit for the fog lights.

I really think that i am going to try it the AM way. But i'll do the stangmods way with what you said to do P51. That's only if my buddy thinks that's the easiest way..
