Default Next Performance Parts

just trying to decide where to go next. i would love to do 4.10 gear but i cant find any shops around that will do it. i checked prices at ford and a few other places but they want to charge me 1100.00 for it. i think that is way to much. if i could find a shop within resonable distance i would absolutely do that next. but i cant seem to find anything.
just finished putting a catback on and have a brenspeed tuned sct x3. i was going to go for a new midpipe but i was thinking of maybe getting the accufab 75 mm tb/plenum combo and a short ram intake all at once so air induction is finished in one install.

any opinions on this?

I would change out the midpipe, throw an CAI on and then retune, if you have the money get long tube headers.

Forget the rest for the moment, and find a place that will install the gears. Unless you're in the middle of nowhere, i'm sure you can find a place within a reasonable distance...so keep searching!!!

should read some of the stickies. 75mm tb/plen are not worth the money on an N/A car. one of the stickies the guy dyno tested vs. stock and he actually lost horsepower. HOWEVER on a supercharged car gained 18rwhp over stock. unless you got FI or head/cam work opening up the intake too much on a 2v can actually hurt you because you kill the venturi effect and put turbulence in the air intake. unless you want the "bling" under the hood the stock tube with a K+N and the silencer removed is just fine.

i guarantee you can find a shop to do it less than 1100$. are you asking them for gears and install or what? the shops here charge too much and the most expensive quote i got was like 600$ (shade tree mechanic was like 400) but i had my gears, diff fluid, and a rebuild kit already.

midpipe would be a decent/cheap upgrade and no reason to retune it. a 93 generic tune is fine.

There's a guy on this forum in DE that will do it for cheap. He used to be a Ford Tech. A lot of people have recomended him. I'm going to him once I purchase 4.10 gears.

Id keep searching for a shop to do gears...they make a world of difference. Id look into gears and then save up for LTs and midpipe...that mod REALLY woke my car up...it's a whole new animal lol.

Did some serious searching and I did find a place I think I cantrust for gear install. Now the question is what ratio to go with. I think I may have read almost every post I could find on this forum about 4.10 and 3.73 and I still don't know what to decide on.
Is it true that 4.10 won't pass emission? Read that on a reply on a topic at this forum.

I know everyone has said thief opionion on the tpoic in various other posts but I'll take any new responses as to opionins as to what would work ot the best.

Gear have nothing to do with emissions.

IMO, if you're staying n/a go with 3.90's or 4.10's. If you decide to do forced induction then consider 3.73's or 3.90's.
