Which CAI should I use JLT vs. BBK
I am wondering which CAI would work best for my application.
Its still a stock GT but with SLP loudmouth and 25lb injectors(old injectors failed last week leaking).
My plans are:
N/A 9.8:1 SOHC 4.6 0.30 over forged bottom end with hooker long tubes, h-pipe, victors jr intake fuel injected and stage 3 crower cams(the ones with .610 lift) of course the heads will be ported and polished also with bigger valves.
Which CAI will perform better?
Also will heat wrapping the intake help?
Thanks Ben

This kinda makes me laugh. I mean you are talking about all the things you are going to do to your car (compression, heads, cams, P&P) yet your asking about which CAI to get?
Anyways, I don't think you could go wrong with either CAI. I would also pass on the heat wrapping.

Most people say CAI aren't worth it. They don't add any noticable power that would make it worth the extra money. They are more for show. On a dyno they may add 1-3rwhp. Not worth the $200 and that's why I just did a K&N air filter.

Like others are saying, performance wise they're all about the same. And yeah, I know, the BBK's metal construction makes it more prone to heat soak than plastic, but in most applications it will never make a noticeable difference. I like having shiny crap under my hood, which factored a lot when I went with the BBK cai, but I've also heard good things about JLT. The only thing I don't like about BBK's stuff is that their installation instructions aren't very detailed, unlike manufacturers like Steeda or MaxMotorsports.
