questions before I get the KB
i have a 2001 gt i'm looking to get the KB 2.1L some question are
1. how much is my gas milage on hwy gna be effected? I know it's all how you drive but i'm talking 65 mph on cruise right now i get about 25mpg
2. will my AM CAI still fit or do I have to get a new CAI?
3. how is the traction? i'm running nitto invos with cobra rims which are wider than the gts hopefully that might help.
4. i have to drive 60 miles a day as long as I am intercooled I should be good right? no over heating or anything?
5. should I get it tuned when I get it or buy the KB chip?
Thanks for the help this site has been a huge help

1. dunno
2. kb blowers come with their own intakes i believe
3. more power equals harder to get traction, so maybe a driver mod lol
4. you should be fine with or without an intercooler i think
5. get it tuned most definitely. you should probably install the kb and then have it towed to a tuner.

well ill be running 9psi most the time so keep that in mind in the answers thanks and i know you can buy a KB CAI but i was wonder if I can keep the one i have now?also with the kit I am getting I can have anywhere from 6 PSI to 14 what would be safe on a stock motor?I fig 9psi would be a good medium

1. Wont be affected if you do not mash the gas everywhere you go. You mash the gas, then obviously your MPG will suffer.
2. Dont know about your CAI. My JLT wouldnt fit my 2,1l.
3. Traction will be up to the driver.
4. no overheating with the ic
5. It will come with a tune. However, i would at least have it dyno'd with a A:F meter to see how good the tune is. If its good, then you can run it. But if it is bad, you need to have it dyno tuned.

1. Don't know about the KB but after installing my ProCharger my gas mileage went from 23 mpg to 22 mpg.
2. You need the KB CAI that comes with the kit.
3. Traction will suck until you get used to the new power.
4. You will have no problems with the intercooler on the interstate. They work best at highway speeds and worst in stop and go traffic.
5. Never trust a "canned" tune. Alway get it checked before driving it. U-Haul rents towing dollies if you need one.
6. Maybe the KB guys can give you a little more info, but I've heard that a KB with an intercooled 9 psi is pretty much the maximum for a stock motor. It generates more low end torque than the centrifical superchargers.

1-4 what eagle and tim said ^
5.IMO if you're going to spend that much money, do it right and have it dynoed and tuned
6. good call on asking the KB guys, I'm sure they'd be happy to give some info to a prospective customer on their product

1. about 18- mpg on 93 octane lol
2. With the 'big tube' option you get a new cai along with 90mm maf, throttle body &chip
3. how is the traction? marginal at best lol get some dr's.
4. nope
5. tuned, put it in valet mode and drive to tuner.
