which headers would be better

I wont' tell you that... I think both suck. If you have already spent big money on a catted mid-pipe for stock/shorites... I would say skip the long tubes... they really aren't going to net you much... especially for the cost and it's only worse if you can't install them yourself.
You're going to look back and seriously wonder what you just spent $1000 on.

I do agree that they're not a great bang for the buck at the op's level...especially if pay someone to do them, but if you're gonna do them, you should do it right the first time imo.

I understand what you're saying, but if he's going through the pita process of doing headers, he might as well go with long tubes. Peak numbers on a bolt ons only car won't be much different, but the power under the curve will be slightly better. If he ever decides to any cam or head work, or forced induction, it won't even be close at that point. Not to mention the sound from long tubes will be better.

Actually on the boosted cars it doesn't really matter all that much, exhaust scavenging isn't as important as it is on an NA car. I've seen boosted cars only pick up 18hp when switching from shorties to long tubes... sure that's still 18hp, but for the price, eh.
But I would agree, if you are hell bent on headers, go with long tubes if they are in the budget.

The weird thing was even though i only got 6 hp n/a, the car was noticably more responsive, and seemed to rev more freely in the high rpm's.

Wow that torque pick up is crazy... but like I mentioned it's when the air is being forced through the engine via a supercharger that tuning your headers for exhaust scavenging becomes less of an issue.
