Default The UPS man came bearing gifts today

Spec Stage 1 clutch, Spec lightweight flywheel, and the clutch adjuster kit, all from AM, delivered in a timely fashion as always. Putting it all in next Wednesday, can't wait! I currently have a worn out Spec Stage 2 clutch with the crappy stock flywheel and beat-to-**** bearings. It's gonna feel awesome after the install. I went with the Stage 1 as I feel the Stage 2 is a bit overkill, and the stiffness of the 2 has gotten really old to me, especially in stop-and-go traffic. I wanted something with better everyday drivability and comfort while being stronger than the stock clutch, so the Stage 1 seemed to fit my needs perfectly. Just thought I'd share my excitement.

Nice!

My throw-out bearing has starting to make a slight squealing sound too and that along with more track time on slicks means that I am gonna be looking into a new clutch as my next mod.

I've heard good things about SPEC except that the stage 2's have a really heavy clutch (as I've experienced my friends 03 GT with one) and that sometimes they are chattery?

Noice, and yes, the stage 2 is a fairly heavy clutch.... Smart idea going back down to the stage 1.

how many miles did you get out of the stage 2? seems odd that you have to swap it out again because i only plan on doing a clutch job ONCE

Maybe he road the clutch pretty hard? There are more ways than just mileage to toast a clutch.

You should def. write how you like it. I am going to need to get a new clutch this spring and am interested to read how you like it. My choices are between this one and the King Cobra.

Make sure its installed right. But when i get a new clutch, im getting a centerforce DF clutch. They are amazing clutches and have never heard a bad thing about them except that they are a little bit more expensive on average but the quality is worth it.

Are the Centerforce DF clutches similar to a Stage 1 or 2 clutch?

Id say the DF is something like between a stage 1 and stage 2 actually with the DFX being between a stage 2 and 3. The regular DF clutch says around a 90% increase in holding capacity and a light pedal pressure. So i think the torque rating on it is like 600lbs ft or torque. My friend put one in his 00 GT and he said it felt like an import clutch. He compared it to his honda civic actually. lol so thats the one im going for.
