for you supercharged guys
i found a used procharger kit on ebay, for around 1100. it comes with all the plumbing, intercooler, and the charger itself. if i were to get that, what else would i need? i see quite a few people have focus SVT fuel pumps, why those? and it says i'll need "a larger lph fuel pump, the bolts and spacers for the blower to bolt to your motor, and a chip to be burned for your specific computer." what's a chip to be burned for my specific computer? what else have you guys done, or had to do to run a supercharger? anything you would recommend besides the previously stated things? any help would be greatly appreciated

Since the engine is going to be running with a lot of air, the fuel injectors and the fuel system would have to be upgraded. A good electric fuel pump will come in hand with plenty of volume, since the pressure isn’t as important as the flow. Also, it shouldn't be less than 8 pounds of pressure under load so it never runs lean. I wouldn't buy one of ebay. You may run into some problems with the kit. Trust me.

Why would you assume that fuel pressure is less important than flow? Maintaining the pressure is #1

You would need a 255lph fuel pump (the svt focus is a 255lph pump), lager injectors (most kits use 36 or 42's), new maf (most use the 90mm lightning maf) and a tune, either a dyno tune with a handheld setup or a chip with the tune on it to plug into your computer.

Thanks for the correction Stevecooper. I meant 38psi. I made a typo error.
On a carb it can't be less than 7-9 PSI though. lol
I always consider flow very important, since I've worked with a lot of carbs in the pass but now I'm just working with a lot of newer BMW's. Don't get wrong. Both, fuel pressure and flow are very important when running a supercharger though. You can say without any pressure there's no flow, well it depends on what you're working on. If you get a clogged filter or fuel injector you wouldn't have any flow. Back in the days flow was considered important specially on carb engines and I always keep that in mind.
