Foglight Mod Did NOT Work

Foglight Mod Did NOT Work
well, i followed the article that was written on americanmuscle on how to independently wire your fog lights so that they stay on when the hi beams are on. I did everything that the article said:

Located my fog switch and found the brown wire (which was really more of a gray)
Than i cut that wire and spliced it into the purple/white wire from the convertable harness.
The fog lights turned on, but when i flashed the high beams, the fogs would turn off.
I know i did everything that the article said, but the only confusing thing was that they gave the "how-to" with a wiring diagram of an 03" cobra and not an 01-04 mustang...
can anybody shed some light to what i did wrong? maybe somebody who has done this before?
