Thanks 99,

I am going to pick the motor up after the holidays. I would like to take everything off the 2001 engine myself just to see how it is done but will get a friend of mine to put everything on the 1998 engine.

I was thinking of getting rid of the meth/waterr and just getting an Ebay intercooler since alot of people are saying that the tune is a pain for the meth injection.

Poppajac.

again, put the 2001 engine in there and swap the FI setup on that.

if the 2001 is already built then it would make more sense to use that and not the 98 motor...unless i missed something. from what i gather you have a stock 98 motor with FI and a built 01 motor your going to tear apart....should be the other way around lol

you missed the part where the 01 motor has a rod sticking out the side of the block...he said the previous owner had the built motor in it, ran it untuned and threw a rod, so he swapped in a 98 motor he had sitting there, and is now selling the car with the 98 motor in it, and the blown up 2001 motor comes with it

well...he said it threw a rod, but then he also said it may be the crank...so who really knows...but he did mention the 01 motor is blown up

yea i'd just get the head cams and Intake off that 01 and put em on your car. maybe see whats wrong with the 01 motor too and if its just 1 rod then i'd just pick up a new rod and wala built shortblock

Yea, just get the whole thing and see what can be done with it. Maybe by throwing a rod...it didnt throw it through the block. But the heads and cams are a must for you to get to 400rwhp. But chances are that those pieces will get you into your "rod throwing" power level so be careful.
