the bumboclaat... wasn't that somebody's car on this site? a black GT with a s/c and built block and everything.. right? didn't mylongvictor name his car "the bumboclaat"

is my memory serving me right?

And i agree that any aftermarket shifter will really get you what you are looking for. But i would just like to add my opinion that i LOVE my steeda tri-ax and i dislike my friends' mgw. Two guys i know have mgw and they have tried my car with the steeda tri-ax and wish that they had the tri-ax instead of the mgw... It's all personal preference. To me, the mgw is too notchy.

I have the MGW but IMO is to smooth. Its so smooth to where when you wanna slam it in gear you almost have to double check its in gear. I plan on spring switching to the Steeda Tri-Ax eventually to see if I like that better or not. I prefer a notchy shifter over something real smooth.

You've probably just gotten used to it, I find that the more I don't think about shifting the smoother it is. For 1st-->2nd just pull back and slightly toward your knee, for 2nd to 3rd push forward and let the centering spring do the work through the neutral gate. 3rd to 4th is straight back...

"Notchiness" is in the tranny, the spring loaded ball and notch detents on the shift rods. There's nothing in the shifter itself that is "notchy"...
