Default "forging" the internals.... Advice

so I know that means replacing the pistons/rods/etc. How hard is it to actually do? I know that it means digging into the engine, can it be done with the motor in the car, or can it only be done w/ the engine out of the car? Does anybody have any experience doing this, and could possibly link me to a write up, or possibly just a shout step list of what needs to be done? I just want to get an idea of what all goes into the process. Thank you for your help!

You're rebuilding the bottom end. You need to take the motor out. I would get it to a machine shop to at least hone the cylinder walls or bore over.

This is a great writeup for a 351w. I know it isn't a 4.6 but I think it will give you a good idea of what it takes to install a rotating assembly.
