Default is this the RPM hang thing (that I can fix)?

If the motor has a load on it for any more then 10 seconds when I press in the clutch the cars RPMs will hang at about 1000 rpms. But here is the part I just cant figure out. It will stay there UNTIL the car stops rolling.... as soon as the car literally comes to a stop (like when you feel the weight go back on the read end) the car will drop its idle to its usual 5-600 rpm

Why does this drop ALWAYS happen after the car fully stops? And why will it not do it when the car is moving (without a load on the engine)? Is this some kind of computer thing?

I'm not sure why this is, but i think it's totally normal. Every manual i've owned has done that.

What you descibe is normal, while moving at all the idle stays high to make 110% sure there is sufficient power steering hydraulic pressure to keep the hydroboost braking system working...

RPM hang happens when you shift gears. Say you shift at 2000 rpms. With your foot off the gas and the clutch in the motor will stay at 2000 rpms a couple of seconds before dropping back. I was told that Ford built the car this way for emissions standards. If it bothers you there is a simple fix. You take your Idle Air Controller (IAC) off. Using your current gasket, you make a new gasket (gasket material from Autozone) that has a smaller center hole. You might search for the mod but I think the hole size that you want is 5/16th of an inch. If you make the hole too small the car won't idle with the air conditioner on.

It is the RPMs hanging high between shifts... A sort of kludgy fix is to add a restrictor to the IAC flow path, either by using a gasket or thin metal plate with a smallish hole (1/4" to 3/8") to restrict the flow between the IAC and the TB, or by using a restrictor (a 1/2" copper pipe cap works nicely) with a similarly sized hole in the IAC feed tube.

It can also be adjusted in the tune via various settings, as a group sometimes called the virtual dashpot function...

most likely is a vacuum leak, possibly IAC valve.
