Fobra: I realize that the inlet is a restriction with the 2.1, I wish Kenne Bell told me that in the begining. I would have ordered the bigger 2.8 unit if I was thinking ahead, I will have to kick my own a$$ again now that you remined me...lol.

It's very possible, I just overlooked the very obvious apples-to-oranges comparison of the KB 2v setup vs the 4v setup. Even though the blower is basically the same unit, when used on the two different engines, you get different capabilities, and different results.

Well for the 2v guys, unless you go with the MPH Mammoth kit, the 2.1 and the 2.6 blowers would be your only offerings for the 2v.

tee281:Modern Muscle Car Garage (formally Modular Powerhouse), has an exclusive offering of the 2.8 kit that fits the 2V motors. I spoke to Kenne Bell on Tuesday, and they told me that I could not buy the 2.8 kit directly from them. Kenne Bell does not market the 2.8 kit for the 2V, because there is not a big call for it. They have given exclusive marketing rights for the kit to Modern Muscle Car Garage, and therefore you must call them in order to get ahold of the kit. Now to come up with the $6,400 dollars to get it for my car, I am working on that part.

teej281:

I did see your reference to the kit, I was just elaborating on the details for others who may be interested in it. My 2.1 Kit is the intercooled one, and I see where you may be going with your thoughts. If you were going to suggest upgrading to a larger cooler, I have been looking at AFCO coolers who make one to fit. I was also looking at the larger intercooler overflow tank, that can hold up to 30lbs. of ice. If I upgrade the overflow tank and the cooler, I would have to also pick up a battery re-location kit as the large tank sits in that spot. I don't really know if that's where you were going with that question, but I am open to as many ideas as possible.

Thanks, Dave

I was going to make sure you werent trying to push a non-i/c'd kb that high in boost without nitrous or methanol. But yea, a heat exchanger might do well for you. Might need to "fobra" up your car a little bit to fit it in there but it might help. I'd suggest making your car a meth addict though.

I have a Snow methanol kit that I never got around to installing last year, I just wanted to find out who else had good results with meth and the Kenne Bell before installing it? I have a Derale tranny cooler near the heat exchanger, that I already have a tight fit with. I have braided lines from the cooler to the tranny, so I can move the cooler without disturbing the lines too much. If the meth kit works with the Kenne Bells, I will go ahead an install it in the next few weeks?!
