I also want to know more about this, what would be a safe boost limit on a stock motor for a daily driver? Also how much would it cost for all the parts approx?

thanks

Supercharger FTW! Even though I don't have a supercharger on my car, but I want one!

8-10 psi or around 400 rwhp is about the max you'll want to go, and still keep it safe.

Blowers can range from anywhere between 2-5k for everything (in general) depending what kind you buy.

+1 Most tuners will tell you to not go over 370-380 rwhp (420-430 hp at the crank) on a daily driver with a manual transmission. I had my ProCharger installed at 80,000 miles. I currently have 135,000 on the car. You really do not need to do anything to prep your motor for a supercharger. You can buy supercharger kit and have it installed on a completely stock motor. The most critical part of the installation is the tune. Running an 8 lbs pulley you should see around 350 rwhp through a manual transmission or around 315 rwhp through an automatic. A 10 lb pulley will get you closer to 400 rwhp (manual transmission), 360 rwhp (automatic).

i was running a a 10lb pulley making 12lb of boost on my 95 with a stock bottom end it made 437wrhp. I was told that a mustang stock engine could hold up to 15lb of boost and up to 450wrhp but anything over that you would need to build the engine

Wow, that kit looks pretty good. I'm a noob with superchargers and it looks like that kit has every single component i would need to run it. I don't wanna go crazy with the boost, just a safe 8-9 pounds, its my daily driver. I don't wanna blow a motor as its my only car.

Consider AM's supercharger kits, too. They basically just have Vortech's though, but prices aren't bad.

why do some superchargers go on top of the block and others look like turbos?
