Is your CAI in the fenderwell??? Pull the filter and clean it. There might be something wrapped around the filter, causing a restriction in the intake and causing the harder sucking noise.

I removed the filter yesterday and placed my hand over the end of the cold air intake tube and the noise went away.??.. do i possibly need a filter replacement even though visualy it dosent look damage i think its probably 2-3 years old atleast. I made the video lastnight man just its being a B*** to upload so i can make a link with photobucket

post it up whenever man. but i dont think that putting your hand over the intake tube with the car running was the smartest idea. But try just buying a new K&N filter or something and put that on and see if that solves your problem. Im probably about due to get a new filter too anyways. Probably should do that soon.

How weird my old v6 did that same thing (where it takes the last gulp when you shut the engine off) I had a BBK CAI in the fender wall. My car was throwing codes and it ended up being the air pump in the fender wall. It might be your pump going out like mine did, but if your not throwing codes thats a good thing. Good luck let us know what you find out!

That's a good point. I totally forget about the airpump in the wheel well of those cars (I had a 2000 V6 and had that pump replaced twice under warranty). Since the air cleaner is on the same side, maybe that's the problem.

Try the filter replacement first and/or take a pic of it when its off so we can see what it looks like. But i still dont know what the air pump does. Could someone explain it to me???
