Meth vs Intercooler (Air or Water)
Hey guys, trying to make up my mind here. I'm about to install the Vortech V2-SQ (3.33 pulley) set up on essentially a non-PI engine with PI intake and aftermarket intake plenum/throttle body.
The car is not my daily driver and mainly a nice weather cruiser that will an occasional track outing. I don't mind pushing the limit as if/when the engine goes I plan on building it or swapping/ I was initially going to use the CXR racing air/air intercooler but now I'm not sure. Going water/air with a heat exchanger and a straight throught setup would have less pressure drop and there would be less piping to deal with. I then started wondering about water/meth injection. would it be worth it to go air/air intecooler with meth, meth/water alone, or air/water intercooler with meth. Just wanted to get some opinions. This looks pretty cool too http://www.cryofuzion.com/products.htm#Interfreezer |
Just go with the tried and true air/air intercooler. and if thats not enough, buy a water/meth kit and put that on as well for the added cooling and added octane to allow for more timing.

Air-to-air over meth, been there

Yeah, I just went ahead and bought one the CXRacing intercooler/piping set ups. It seem pretty economical and quite a few guys having been using it without any real issues. Thanks guys. who knows may meth too down the road. |
