Anyone have any idle clips of MHS stage II cams?

And i can do it on a weekend at my buddy's shop and he can install them at advertised specs then and i wont have to worry about PTV clearance with the ground down/new valves...right?
Yes, with new valves or machined valves and properly degreed cams, you won't have any issues.

Would i still have to have them degreed or could i install them at advertised specs??? I thought degreeing them would be to minimize the PTV clearance. Or could you even advance them a little bit more with new intake valves or no??? Really a newb with cams.

How can you install cams at their advertised specs if you don't degree them?

Ya to have your cams installed at the advertised specs, you do have to have them degreed in. Most cars have a variance of +/-4 degrees. So if you don't degree the cams your timing could be advanced or retarded which then you wouldn't be at advertised specs.

And yes there are people who didn't degree their cams. To me, that is crazy and I would never think about installing cams without degreeing them. Without degreeing the cams you could be leaving a lot on the table or advancing the cams enough to create PTV issues.

Gotcha, so the timing gears that Nick sells would help get rid of that need of the degreeing of the cams??? Or at least cut down on the time needed to degree. And could you degree them advanced from advertised specs if you have the aftermarket/ground valves and/or notched pistons???

To my understanding, Nick's cam gears do eliminate having to degree them in which from what I have heard saves A LOT of time.

Yes, you can advance the timing but if want to do that, stepping up to a bigger cam might be a better idea, I'm not to certain though so don't quote me on that.

Well i figured if you didnt want to be revving it to the moon, a stage 2 (MHS stage 3 equivalent) would be ideal for peak power being somewhat low and the advancing would make for more midrange and possibly stronger peak wouldnt it???

I beleive Nick no longer offers the matched cam gears after doing more research and realizing most aftermarket cams have as much degree variance as the cam gears do.

Wow, youre right!!! So for $150, they will degree your cams for you...but do they just degree them with the cam gears and then when you get them shipped to you, are they ready to install???
