viper t56, good for the drive there and stout enough for the trip down the 1320

if your ever gonna take it to the track id go with an auto...autos are always faster and more consistent

mine is 95% street car but geared for drag and street racing and i will be throwing in a C4 this spring

get a reverse manual valve body and you still shift it just no clutch

I'd say get a magnum t56...its the t56 housing with the GT500 internals in it good for 700+ torque and you get more usable 1-4th gear ratios and you still get the cruising gears for 5th and 6th. But if not that, definitely some sort of T56 is your best bet. The transmission is just a great tranny. And you'll love having a gear between 4th and OD(which is technically what 5th in ours is and what 6th is in the T56).

You have a link for this? I've always liked this idea, but didn't know someone has actually done it.

Edit: You say T56 housing.. do you mean bell housing or the entire case? I would assume the entire case, cuz doesn't the GT500 use a hydraulic clutch? How would that work?
