Default 1 wheel squeal?

I just recently bought my 04, do both wheels spin or just 1? I ask because when i was stuck in the snow 2day my 1 tire dug the hell outta the snow leaving a trench and the other tire didnt really leave anything. Why is that? And also its winter so i havnt really lit up the tires and left a patch. I thought they both spin on these. My 5.0 was the same way but i was told thats bc the traction lock had to be rebuilt

You answered your own question. Your trac-loc needs to be rebuilt

One wheel has to have good traction for a clutch type LSD to lock up--otherwise there is not enough side thrust on the spider gears to load the clutches...

I think Cliffy is right. Mine works, but when I was stuck in the snow, only one wheel was spinning.
