Got another problem....

I went to get my car aligned and they said they couldnt align it that I need new front struts and I need to replace my ball joint in my left front. For the struts they are charging me $342 for both plus labor and for the ball joint theyu are charging me $80.62 plus labor the total is about $853...does anyone know anywhere online where I could get them a little cheaper?? If anyone can help me out that would be much appreciated. THX

You can get Gabriel's premium struts (mcuh better than stock) from AutoZone for $55 each, their ball joint is $24...

That's really expensive man.. Time to upgrade...

wrr1020 02-17-2010 05:47 PM

Wow, thats way too expensive. I got four new Tokico shocks/struts, h&r lowering springs, camber plates, and install for less than that. I'd go with what cliffyk said if your looking to just replace the struts and want to save money or go all out and lower it with brand new shocks/struts, springs, etc.

I think your best bet is to just throw some tokico HP's on all 4 corners, get some lowering springs, cc plates, and call it a day. install yourself and enjoy your new ride quality and amazing cornering capabilities over stock.

I dont really want to lower my car. i just want to replace the struts in the front and the ball joint on the driver side

hpwrestler220 02-18-2010 02:08 PM

Than do as cliffyK suggested. But install yourself. You'll get out of it in $150 or less if you can install yourself..

+1 install the ball joints yourself if your comfortable with that. you can rent the ball joint press from auto zone for like a hundred bucks and when you bring it back they give you all your money back. i did that with my old jeep and it worked awsome saved a lot of time. if you do the ball joints yourself id say you could bo it for less than $75. as far as the struts idk depends on what you want from the car handling wise.
