Default what to do about paint on my car.

This morning about 930am I was driving to school and there was a massive unavoidable paint spill in the street, so now my car has white paint splattered all over the sides, on the tires, underneath, and in the wheel wells.

Do I contact insurance? File a police report or what? Apparently the company boned out and left wet paint in the street.

Wow, that blows. I would try clay bar on it. I've heard clay bar can get rid of paint splatter, of course this can be for mild splatter only. If your covered in it then it may not be as effective. Hope it works out for you.

call department of transportation and ask them...here in ohio, i know they will pick up repair bills from pothole damage, so im sure they would cover paint damage if there was "unavoidable" paint in the road, or if it was city paint...worth atleast asking someone about

if not, contact your insurance company

Idk if i'm wrong(probably am). But wouldn't the insurance company just give you the money to fix it and then jack up ur premium so you end up paying more then what you actually needed to spend?

Do you know what kind of paint it is. You might get lucky and it might be house latex paint, and it may wash off with water. If it is oil based, try the WD-40 and a clean rag to rub it off. Since the surface was not properly prepared for painting, I do not think it will stick very good. I would not recommend going to your insurance company. Good luck!

most companies do not jack up rates for non-collision incidents

Goof Off might work, but test it first to make sure it doesnet eat your clear off. An orbital buffer would remove it. Maybe even some bug and tar remover.

I would try some paint thinner/reducer. I have done it a few times and it worked well.
